RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the pastry team in basic preparation tasks such as weighing ingredients, preparing mise en place, and simple pastry items

• Support senior pastry staff in the daily production of desserts and bakery items

• Follow standard recipes, instructions, and portion control guidelines

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section and workstations

• Comply with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of food items

• Operate basic kitchen equipment safely under supervision

• Assist during service periods as required

• Minimise waste and report any issues to supervisors

• Work cooperatively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations

PROFILE:

• Basic Certificate or ongoing training in Pastry, Bakery, or Culinary Arts

• Entry-level experience in a kitchen environment (hotel or restaurant preferred)

• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices

• Willingness to learn and develop pastry skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

• Good teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holiday
