RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, breads, and bakery items in accordance with established recipes and standards

• Support the Pastry Chef and senior pastry team in daily kitchen operations

• Ensure mise en place is prepared accurately and on time

• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

• Follow hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times

• Properly handle, store, and label food items according to HACCP guidelines

• Keep the pastry section clean, organised, and well-maintained

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly

• Minimise food waste and report shortages or quality issues to supervisors

• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service

PROFILE:

• Certificate or Diploma in Pastry/Bakery or Culinary Arts from a recognised institution

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a pastry kitchen (hotel or restaurant environment preferred)

• Basic knowledge of pastry, bakery, and dessert preparation techniques

• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

• Good teamwork, communication skills, and professional attitude
