Maintenance Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily maintenance operations for guest rooms, public areas, plant rooms, BOH areas, MEP systems, and related facilities

• Carry out regular walkthroughs to assess safety, compliance, and asset condition; ensure timely rectification of defects

• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is completed to standard, properly documented, and aligned with maintenance schedules

• Maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems in optimal working order

• Verify maintenance work is carried out safely, following H&S regulations and internal procedures

• Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary technical team (supervisors, technicians, handymen, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, welders, HVAC techs)

• Plan manpower allocation, daily work distribution, and overtime requirements

• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a service culture across the engineering department

• Prepare annual CAPEX proposals for infrastructure, equipment upgrades, and refurbishment works

• Respond promptly to guest and operational complaints, ensuring efficient and sustainable resolution

PROFILE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or Facility Management

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a complex technical environment, with at least 5 years as Maintenance Manager in a 5-star hotel/hospitality environment

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams

• Strong knowledge of hotel MEP systems, building fabric, HVAC, plant equipment, and preventive maintenance programs

• Experience managing refurbishment or large-scale upgrade projects (essential)

• Registration with the Engineering Council of Mauritius (advantage)
