Group Electrician
The Group Electrician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems across Sunlife’s facilities.
This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure, supporting the smooth running of the Group’s operations.
The Group Electrician will work closely with the maintenance team to proactively identify and resolve issues, implement preventive measures, and ensure compliance with all electrical safety standards and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, control panels, lighting systems, and other electrical components across Group facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure reliability and safety.
- Perform upgrades or replacements of outdated or faulty electrical equipment.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions, faults, or breakdowns, and implement timely repairs.
- Respond to electrical emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
- Work with other maintenance staff to resolve complex technical issues.
- Develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents or system failures.
- Assist in electrical aspects of new construction, renovation, or upgrade projects.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized electrical services.
- Provide technical advice to management on energy efficiency, sustainability, and system improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and electrical modifications.
- Prepare reports on recurring issues, root causes, and recommended solutions.
- Ensure all compliance and safety documentation is complete and available for audits or inspections.
PROFILE :
- Diploma/Certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably within a multi-site or group environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring regulations, and safety codes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid electrician license/certification (as per local regulatory requirements).
- Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and addressing issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Good communication skills for coordination with staff and contractors.
