Front Office Controller

As a Front Office Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of all front office financial transactions, guest account management, and audit procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and manage City Ledger accounts, including guest departures with outstanding balances.
  • Review and verify guest arrivals and check-ins, ensuring pre-authorisations and billing instructions are correctly applied.
  • Review credit card pre-authorisation report for all in-house and arriving guests.
  • Oversee bank deposits for cash, cheque, and credit card transactions, ensuring guests related credits are posted in a timely manner and that same is effectively communicated to Front Office Team through Opera Traces.
  • Verify and allocate online credit card deposits received via booking channels.
  • Manage and respond to all relevant email correspondence, including guest communication, booking confirmations, and internal coordination.
  • Coordinate and validate group arrivals, including rooming lists, billing details, and deposit tracking.
  • Post and audit no-show charges and cancellation fees in line with company policies and rate agreements.
  • Process and document all necessary adjustments related to guest accounts or folios.
  • Ensure timely and accurate account closure procedures at the end of each day or shift.
  • Monitor and manage pseudo rooms (non-inventory rooms used for internal billing or operational purposes).
  • Support the Night Audit and Front Office teams in ensuring financial compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare the Daily Revenue Reports.
  • Daily computation of Homeowners shared revenue

PROFILE:

  • Holder of a School Certificate and/or Higher School Certificate.
  • Knowledge of Opera system.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel/Word.
  • Critical eye for details.
  • Ambitious and strongly motivated.
  • Operationally driven with analytical mind.
  • Possesses team leader qualities and strong personality.
  • Fluent in English and French.
