La Pirogue provides an authentic Mauritian experience for the curious - full of possibility, tranquillity, and local charm.
The La Pirogue Marlin World Cup, established in the early 1980s,
has garnered a distinguished reputation over the years, evolving into the oldest international fishing competition in Mauritius. Drawing participants from numerous countries including England, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Germany, alongside our local Mauritian teams, it has hosted up to 40 teams comprising nearly 200 participants. Anglers cast their lines in pursuit of the renowned blue or black marlins, as well as other prized catches such as yellowfin tuna, dorado, and wahoo, all adhering to the regulations set forth by the International Game Fish Association. Winners of the competition earned the prestigious opportunity to compete in the Cabo San Lucas International Tournament in the United States.
Subscription fee starts from RS 100,000 for a team of a minimum of 2 anglers and a maximum of 4 anglers.
